Murter’s submarine offers a handful of breathtaking dives in the sea with crystal clear visibility, but our biggest wish was that as part of our Scuba Scanner visit to Tramonto Diving Center, one of those dives would be “Štuka” (pike).  This German Junkers Ju 87 bomber is an exceptional find and a true rarity, with only two surviving out of a total of 5,709 produced worldwide, on display at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago and the Royal Air Force Museum in London. Two other wrecks were recovered from the seabed in Greece and France, but were badly damaged.

– Our “Štuka” (pike) is in extremely good condition, the best preserved of any in existence today – explained to us Milan Colić, owner of Tramont and head of the diving department, during his pre-dive briefing.
